Abstract
Endotracheal intubation is an essential procedure in genaral anesthesia. If the attempt is unexpectedly difficult, the patient would be seriously at risk. However, anesthesiologists can anticipate difficult intubation cases by assessing the airways in advance and are able to plan safe and effective manage ways for tracheal intubation. Postburn sternomental contractures can cause difficulties in endotracheal intubation. We assessed a patient with a postburn sternomental contracture and predicted difficult intubation prior to surgery. The patients was intubated successfully with a rigid laryngoscope.
